Field Notes | Our monthly newsletter
Once a month, Abdo or Norah writes to you with a scene from a recent project, the month’s articles in a few lines and one study worth reading. Two minutes, first Tuesday.

How it works
No sequences, no daily digests and nothing to configure.
One email a month, never more. Missed one? Every issue stays in the archive at the end of this page.
They take turns, and each issue is signed by whoever wrote it. Hit reply and it reaches them.
Between 300 and 450 words. Every link takes you to the full piece on our website.
Every email has an unsubscribe link. We use your name to greet you and your company to send what fits your sector.
Who it’s for
If you commission research, use it or have to defend it in a meeting, we write Field Notes with you in mind.
What’s different
Abdo and Norah are the social anthropologists who run our projects. The scene in each issue comes from fieldwork they did themselves.
When we quote a study, we name it and link to it, so you can check it before you repeat it in a meeting.
Everything we write is free to read on our website. Field Notes brings it to you once a month, in a few lines.
The archive
Every issue stays here once it’s gone out. The first one goes out on Tuesday 3 November.
